WHAT: The vertical wind turbine will provide the residents of Ma Cha Village with power and electricity for their new community theater, Pre-K classroom, clinic, and grocery store.
WHERE: Ma Cha Village is a four hour drive from Langzhou airport and sits on top of a mountain.
WHY: The village has limited access to the power grid and relies heavily on wood burning as the main source of light. The Gansu Province of China is one of the poorest in the country; 40-50% below the mean of average rural income in China.

FINAL PRODUCT: We are proud to announce the completion of the installation and connectivity of the horizontal axis wind turbine.
SUCCESSFUL EXECUTION: There is light! Installation and connectivity complete. We are able to generate, convert, and bring power to the Pre-K classroom in the community center.
